about

"Politicians have no idea what the importance of culture is.

In our despiritualized world, culture is still the last thing that allows us to go beyond the everyday world and bring people together. Politics separate them, and only culture can bring them together.

The people who are the head of state are also in bad faith. They continue to rule a world which is in chaos, which is ungovernable. It is moreover the fact of modern man, as my friend Emil Cioran says, who said "modern man tinkers with the incurable". Well that's what I do too, and that's what we all do.

I believe that we are witnessing an enormous stupor of which the intellectuals are largely to blame. We are not living in a moment of culture. What is this cultural life? Well it is to make that people can think each in their solitude and distribute to the group the fruit of their meditations, so that the individual flourishes, so that he thinks.

You know that now, as we speak, the world is on fire and ablaze, and I confess to you that despite everything, I myself am happy when midnight comes and can lie down, and sleep. "
